Description

W32.Stuxnet!lnk is a detection for .lnk files created by the W32.Stuxnetworm

. These .lnk files will exploits the “Microsoft Windows Shortcut ‘LNK’ Files Automatic File Execution Vulnerability” to be able to execute the files created by the worm.

Also called as: Troj/Cplink-A, LNK_STUXNET.A, W32.Temphid!lnk, Stuxnet!lnk

Caution: Medium

Os affected : Windows 9x, 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7

Solution

Manual Removal of W32.Stuxnet!lnk:

1. Temporarily Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP).
2. Update the virus definitions.
3. Reboot computer

in SafeMode
4. Run a full system scan and clean/delete all infected file(s)
5. Delete/Modify any values added to the registry.
6. Exit registry editor and restart the computer.
